Okay, folks, now is the time to learn about the author behind the knives...I mean, keyboard.  I am an avid reader, though I rarely find time to do it these days.  I have a Bachelor's Degree with a major in English and spent eight of the past twelve years working in daycare, looking after children of all ages.  I love working with kids and wish it paid better because it is a job with many rewards.

I have been writing for as long as I can remember.  My niece recently did a paper on me (she had to do someone famous, and she picked me...awwe!) and I dug up some old papers that my mother kept from when I was younger.  They date back to as young as 11 years old, and I was writing stories and poems even then.  My first 'book' was published in grade four and it was my first taste of being an author.  The need never left, and I've been writing ever since. 

I spent more time writing than studying in school, and I was blessed with the best teachers who constantly encouraged my talent.  To those teachers, thank you so much! 

Some of my favorite pasttimes, besides reading and writing of course, are being outside gardening, walking - as long as I'm out, I'm happy.  Plus I love to watch movies, exercise (yes, I said exercise...I actually enjoy yoga and going on the treadmill, call me crazy!).  My mother and I are often seen together; whether it's at Walmart or the flea market, we have a great time together and I love that we're so close.  My sister, Shawna, and I are also best friends and I don't know what I would do without her, as well as my brothers and extended family.  I'm blessed with many nieces and nephews and can't complain about family functions being boring! 

I'm always trying new things and hope to be published as a childrens' author in the near future.  Keep checking back for updates!
